Ian Tracey has had a long and extensive association with
the musical life of Liverpool, holding three of its most prestigious
offices. He is Liverpool City Organist, Organist and Master of the
Choristers at Liverpool Cathedral, Chorusmaster to the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Society, and in addition, is Professor, Fellow and Organist
at Liverpool John Moores University. He is also an Honarary Fellow of
the Royal College of Organists. All of which he combines with a busy
freelance career as recitalist and conductor.
On
1st October 2005,
Ian celebrated 25 years since his appointment as Organist & Master
of the Choristers. From January 15th 2008, Professor Tracey will take
up the appointment of Organist Titulaire following the appointment of
David Poulter as Director of Music.
